Hey all. I'm looking around for relocation, and between being accepted into the "pool" for adjuncts at a community college there, I was looking at the Bend or Redmond Oregon area. Anyone familiar with the pros/cons, or any advice?
I make a living working online and writing, so job situation is less important, and I've been in harsh environments (Alaska, Texas desert, Iowa) so that doesn't bother me.
I'm just curious as to any information or advice anyone has. Thanks!
Steph lives there. She wrote this hub for retirees thinking about relocating. I'm sure you'll find it useful too.
Retire in Bend, Oregon
I haven't been to Bend for probably 15 years, but I like Eugene and Ashland a lot. (Though the latter's pretty expensive, I think.) Portland is nice too, for a big city.
It is a little cooler than Reno where I live. But it is beautiful. I lived in Klamath Falls and the climates are similar. No noreasters or crazy weather but there is a winter and spring takes awhile to warm up. I like Oregon again for its beauty.
At least one hubber lives in Bend. Says it's a wonderful place! Great climate, etc.
Thanks for the info, guys, I really appreciate it! I've been to the Corvalis area, but the relocation looks pretty firm so I'm just trying to gather what info I can before I get there. Thanks again!

Have you found it helps increase traffic when writing a...

I have finally decided I'm ready to dive into freelancing and am looking for online opportunities. The first one that popped up was Upwork and I'm currently signing up, but thought I'd check and see if anyone here knows anything about them, first. Any info would be appreciated - Thanks!

I just found the HubPages Directory and naturally, looked for my name. It says that authors must have published hubs to be listed there but I can't find my name. How do we get added?

Is anyone else getting traffic from this site?nativeapp.toutiao.comI am getting traffic from it but I am not sure what the site is or if it's a new search engine of some kind. I do know it has something to do with a Chinese application. So I am wondering if this is a good or bad thing.

Has anyone had success with this service? It seems ideal for writers and publishers.
