The best way for your friends to find your blog, is to simply email the url to them! If you want them to be able to find it in google, then you will need to make sure you have plenty of original content, and some SEO. If your blogg doesn't use a name your friends will recognise, then perhaps they will never find it.
Email them (have it in your signiture, myfacebookspace page, twitter profile etc, etc) still the easiest way.
Send them an email will be a good method to notify your friend about your blog.
