how can I make sure people who read my hubs do not cut and paste my work to their own computers?
The answer to this question is that you can't!
If your work is displayable in a web page, there is nothing from stopping someone else from copying your information to their computer. After all, your web page is copied to the computer in order to display it. Even if you wrap your information within a flash movie (or any other type of code), it can still be copied by a tech-savvy individual.
So, a rule of thumb that you should follow is, "If you do not want your work copied, do not put it in a web page."
