Comments appear on my pages before I approve or deny them
OK, I have recently had some comments posted which have automatically been displayed before I have approved them. Is it possible to stop this and only have them displayed AFTER I have made the decision as to whether they are suitable?
well it would appear to you only and not to other viewers till you approve them..once a viewers comments , it would show in your comments icon..also when you view your page ..it shall show deny/accept button along with the comment..
i commented on one of your hub.. this is what it showed to me..
Your comment has been submitted.
However, it may not appear until it has been approved by the author.
Thank you for participating in the Hubpages community.
Thanks. That's what I thought, however when I visited the page it was showing up even though I was not logged in. Maybe it picked up my IP address
So you have already anwered this.... yes only you see them until you have moderated them and yes your IP address is also the reason you are seeing them.
Consider this: If you are getting comments... people are reading your works and for that..... you should be pleased.
you have to enable that feature in every 'comment' capsule on each Hub that you publish!

What Would Happen if you didn't Approve a comment?Under new comments there is 2 buttons... APPROVE and SPAMBut what happens if you press neither? If nothing, then is the approve button really neccasary? or should it just be a default until you hit Spam?

Should I deny poorly-spelled comments? Are they deliberate?I had a comment left by "Justin Beiber" saying: "Feeli'n bad for em' all" on an article about animals going extinct.I get a lot of comments like that. I'm starting to think they're left by people from rival sites trying...

For years I have been diligent about responding to questions left on my hubs. But now I've discovered comments are being published on my articles without appearing in my Comments section, so I look like I'm rude and ignoring readers who go to the effort of writing.Today I spent ages waiting for...

When do you deny comments? (Please explain your rationale if not obvious)
