How is one chosen to be a 'featured' Author or writer on HubPages?
I was just curious how someone is chosen to be featured, and their articles shown on the home page.
They are all senior hubbers and senior cityzens with serious hubs on very serious matters.
Sweet, I've been on the featured section a few times, it seems to depend on two things:
1) Author score
2) Having written a hub within 24 hours.
If you have an author score of 99 or 100 and have written recently, chances are you'll be on the front page.
Not all those "featured" are senior hubbers and I know for sure they are not all senior citizens. While many of them write serious hubs they also include humorous and fun pieces in their collection. Most are very popular and good writers. Their hubs are well received and they have a good following on hubpages. Give it time Sweetsusieg keep writing and we will, one day, see you as the "featured" writer.

What must we do to establish ourselves as noted writer on HubPages? Is it niche writing? Is it writing on several sites on the internet? Is it showing particular expertise on a topic? What is it that establishes one as noted writer?

What is the best way to avoid getting discouraged as a writer on Hubpages? When you have very little money coming in from the ad program and then it drops suddenly without any explaination to the point where you want to give up writing hubs, how do you find the motivation to stick with it?
