Why do people vote down an article just because they disagree with it?
Is the purpose of voting for the writing? Or is it an agreement or disagreement with the content?
Probably because they can, is the simple answer, same as they vote down answers to questions.
Some times it appears to be out of spite or in ignorance because someone dares to challenge their opinion. It happens a lot if the question or answer is related to religion.
I wouldn't let it bother you nor should you look for logic, reason or common sense in the search for the real answer as to why they do these things. That way lies madness !

Do you give other hubs a "thumbs down" vote?I've never voted a "thumbs down" on any hub, regardless of errors or the tone and nature of an article. If a hub is filled with errors or it is politically charged and I disagree, I may respond, but I do not vote it down. Am I shirking...
