Its very easy. visit paypal.com and sign up. You will be asked for your bank details. Paypal will pay some money into that account (well under a £1) and will ask you in a few days to verify the amount they paid in. Once you do that and it matches what they paid in - your account will be ready to receive payments.
PS. For giving an receiving money (verifying your account) via Paypal, you only need your email address. That's sort of like your account reference.
I don't think Paypal accepts members from Nigeria, that's the point.
