How can I put a link to a book I wrote that is for sale on amazon in my profile? I
I would like a hyperlink- not the entire URL. I did it before, but on Hub, I can't seem to make it work. What am I missing?
You can copy the link from the address bar of your browser and you can create a hyperlink in your profile with the link-button. Select the text that you want to be a link, then click the link-button and then paste the link in there.
The link-button is part of the editing buttons above your profile editing window. But you cannot add an Amazon link like you can in hub with the price and an image. You can only put normal links in your profile text.
There seem to be limits upon self promotion.
But... if you are an Amazon affiliate you should be able to put the ISBN into the search link for making Amazon links. Of course the book would have to be available through Amazon to do that. Not all books are.
I have a self published book and it's available on Google books but not through Amazon.
Just be honest, your book is on sale at Amazon and you wanted to tell the world, if that is not the case, you would have just asked how to link to an individual book on Amazon. Smells of over promotion to me.
Your profile is used for self promotion, you can link to whatever you want.
I've had my book title linked to Amazon in my profile for 2 1/2 years.
Go to your profile, highlight the text you want to link, press the link option in the editing toolbar above your bio and follow the directions. Easy and allowed.
Just highlight the text and then click on the link button which looks like a chain.
What is the name of your book and what is it about?
Thanks everyone- especially those with the techno- know how. I figured it was an easy fix, just couldn't do it without some help!
As for the comments on self-promotion, oh yeah! If I'm not going to tell about my book, who is? The good news has got to start somewhere! lol. So, yes- I want to share that link and feel that my profile is the ideal place to put that. Many writers for Hub share their small biz sites and bloggers share those too. I love that!
Happy 2011 to all.

With the growing number of Hubbers that have published or self-published a book, an e-book, or other literary works, why not give them a self-promotion forum. Allow them to post relevant links there, for the benefit of authors and readers. Also, let them describe their works and authorship, link to...

I know there is a rule about "self promotion in the forums."I just want to clarify what it means. Does it mean there is a blanket ban on all links in our own posts that link to any hub we've written or site or article we own?ORAre we allowed to post our own hub links if relevant to the...

I understand the rationale for removing amazon capsules. I'm very careful not to include amazon capsules unless they are 100% relevant, and I can provide a personal opinion. I rarely do more than one per hub.HP is not only snipping amazon capsules on hubs for niche sites, but also just to have a...

I'm trying to insert a link on my profile page to my Google+ page. The link insertion feature in the "edit" mode now has a list of HubPages to link to, that wasn't there a few days ago. When I insert the link I want, save, and view, the link goes to a weird message that says...
