Why doesn't HubPages date hubs?
I would really like to see when certain articles were written, yet I can't find a date on them. Why doesn't HubPages date articles?
They are dated, in each user's settings you can see them. But the dates are not publicly shown as these dates can be used to prove that you were the first to publish it.
If another website copies your hub, they can simply put the date before your publication date and you have no proof that you were the original author. But if you have the real date the content appeared on the web then you can prove to search engines that you were the first to publish it. Search engines also know that date because they crawl the web daily for new content.
Maybe because authors keep updating their hubs so it won't be a good idea to date a hub 2008 when it has just been updated.
If you are concerned about keeping track of your work, it is a good idea to know this when you publish it, and keep a record. HubPages does show the published date on your "account" page. As the publisher of your own work, it is up to you to post your copyright date if you so choose.
Good luck! :0)
Thanks everybody. I really just wanted to see when someone wrote an article that I found interesting.
