What is your philosophy on the upcoming Hubpages writing contest that starts in April?
Are you holding up publishing anything until then? I plan to have stories set up before hand, unpublished and then publish during the contest. Then write only for the Daily Bonus Topic because there is no way I can write 5 articles in one day - the max submission for the 'so you think you can write online' contest.
Write something original and enjoy taking part even if you don't win money. Instead most will win pleasure and some visitors treasure that's for sure.
It sounds like a lot of fun, but more importantly, it's a chance for HubPages to encourage, good, solid journalism and competent use of grammar, which is sorely lacking in many hubs. We need to sharply improve the quality of the content on this site, and I think that's a good way to start. Hopefully they'll do this kind of thing frequently. Will I participate? I haven't decided.
I have been holding back publishing mine. I know I won't be making 5 per day, but instead of publishing hubs now I might as well wait another week, then publish them during the contest. Maybe I'll win something, maybe not, but I won't lose out a lot by waiting an extra week to publish them.
I wish I had the time to write a hub a day but time is not there for me to do this. Maybe I'll get one or two possibly three. Wish I could because my goal was 100 by the time I am on here a year.

How can you be sure that you have successfully entered the Hubpages writing contest?I tried to enter the hubs I wrote yesterday and today, by typing "WritingContest" tag on the Hub as instructed. Yet I can't find any indication that they have been entered into a contest...please advise....

I am just curious to see if it's a good idea to write short stories on here or if writing different parts of a story and then publishing it? I write a couple of different things but I love to write short stories. Any suggestions? I want to succeed in my writing.

I have over 60 hubs now and could have several hundred before year end. I have been using groups so far to handle the hubs I have, but would like to hear how others with hundreds of hubs manage them.Thank you.
