    What dictates CPM?

    What is it that makes it the amount it is? I am getting some very different amounts each day.

    I am in no way an expert but I think it has something to do with an average of all your hubs divided by the bidding on adverts divided by the views you get divided by the location of those viewers...

    Which is why I think it bounces up and down endlessly, I know if I get a load of views to my camping hub I will end up with a far better result than if I had a load going to one of my rambling brainfart pages that doesn't have any discernible reason for being there...

    For every single thing that changes you are going to end up with a completely different figure...

    Cost Per Thousand Impressions.
    For the purpose here, it's how much you'd make with 1000 impressions at the rate they are paying.

    As to what determines the rate by impression, I believe HubPages works that out with the advertisers.  I don't know how it varies, but I'd suspect it factors in keywords in some manner.
