What is the A for beside most of my hub titles on my account page?
A means missing summary about your hub.Edit you hub and on the right side click on summary and write 2 or 3 sentences about your hub.
It means summary is missing for your hub. Add some summary. It is very important, the summary will show up under your title in search results from search engines like Google and Bing.
Follow the link, how to create a hub summary.

That little A means you have not completed a hub. The summary is important as that is what most search engines use to post for real people to read in search results.
Write one or two sentences, no more than 25 words, using at least your top two key words in an original readable sentence.
