hi out there,
i am a newcomer to the entire concept and format of hubpages, and at the risk of being rather ignorant i cannot figure out how to get started as far as posting an article on my hub site ... technically, i am really lacking ... so, i would very much appreciate guidance so i can get going with this ... with my thanks, alexandra
p.s. in having to choose a 'category' ... is there an option to kind of create one's own category since the choices available are not exactly what i would like to put in that space ... again, thank you ...
I'm assuming you've got as far as clicking the "Start a New Hub" button?
Don't worry too much about the category if you're having trouble with it - you can always change it later. The main thing is to get your Hub written!
You don't have a "Hub site". Each Hub is a separate article. Once you have completed the setup phase, you'll find yourself at your Hub in Edit mode. Add some extra text boxes and photo boxes and set about filling them!
hi again,
first of all, thank you for your help and answers ...
i have yet another silly question ... what does the number that is put next to an article title refer to ...
eventually i'll get get familiar with this ...
again with preemptive thanks and appreciation, alexandra
The number next to a title is that hub's individual score. The quality and content of the hub, mixed with traffic to the hub etc. will raise or lower the score off and on over time. A new hub will generally start out at a lower score, such as the forties or fifties. 100 is the highest score a hub can reach and is difficult to gain.
At the bottom of the hub, there is a link button. Click that and add your tracker. Copy the entire link. Post it on your website.
As for category. You can suggest new categories, but you can't make up your own when setting up the hub.
What is the hub about? Maybe we can help you put it in a category.
find a category closes to the one that fits your choice.....
Is it a hub you want to write, so you pressed start a new hub did you????
There are many Hubs with great advice on getting started in HubPages. Use the Help button and Search bar at the top right of your screen there on HP site. Welcome to HubPages.
I agree with Dame scribe, there are some great hubs about how hubpages works, I read a load of them when I first started and they were a real help. Welcome to hubpages and good luck.

Can I post an article to ezinearticles which I have already published in hubpages?
by Jonagelo 14 years ago
I'm not clear on this. What if I have a wbsite -is there a problem with using my own articles here? And what if someone used an article I wrote. Is that article still mine to post wherever like here?

I have been hub hopping lately and I am disgusted with the incoherent garbage that I am coming across - nothing but poorly translated articles of about 400 words, usually without even any formatting. I would say that more than half of the articles I randomly encounter are clearly nothing but spun...

Can you use hubs that have originally been posted on Hubpages on other sites?

So most of my current articles are doing okay but one article has fallen dramatically over the past year and I'm not sure how to fix it.I've tried tweaking the title, the summary, adding more to the article but it has only lost more traffic.Any helpful hints on what I can do or is it just out of my...

I have finally published a hub that has been deemed unfeatured. I can only direct my attention to a table I inserted which was long when viewed on the mobile platform. Grammar is checked, titles tweaked, content is solid as its in the same vein as my other articles. Do you think this could be it?...
