Don't know if everyone knows this already it's an old info, but maybe it missed some people.
Geocities is shutting down this October. If you have THAT old first site you did (remember, many years ago?) now is the time to try to bring it to other platform before it's gone forever.
Really sad this is happening, but I guess that's also a sign of Web 2.0.
Yep, read about it, and posted something about it on my blog. Plenty of sites I know of are on Geocities, but some have figured out hassle free ways of moving them elsewhere.
Geocities is closing the "FREE sites" they provide. You can pay a monthly fee and keep using them for your web. I will probably go ahead and pay for the upgrade since I can't get results from Homestead's new site that you have to pay for.
I got a homestead site. It allowed me 3 pages and their webbuilding software.
It sucked. I moved elsewhere.
I remember starting my first geocities site many years ago... too bad.

My search of Q/A and the forums didn't turn up much that wasn't old or inadequately answered, so thought I'd stir the soup again and see what floats up. The answers to my questions could be applicable to all hubs, but, in particular, I'm thinking of moving (re-)idled hubs off of HP, not ones still...

I've been writing here for quite a few years, I go back to the ancient era before the 'featured' 'not featured' declension.I have found that 'fixing' a Hub which is not featured is a total waste of time, as in a day or so, after a fix, it is back to unfeatured. I did an experiment and I can...

The focus of HP has turned to the niche sites. Editing services will only be used on hubs being considered for the several new niche domains for the foreseeable future. The niche topics chosen for the next year or so seem to be pets, tattoos, piercings, beauty, food, and beverage. If we don't write...

I recently joined YouSayToo to increase my web presence. I've found hubbers with full articles posted on the site. I thought that wasn't allowed. Thanks for your help : )

So far, thanks to the Idle hubs "feature", I have had my second month in a row where I haven't earned $50 through the HP Ad program... and these are the only 2 times, out of the history of me using HP Ads, that I haven't reached the $50 mark.Weren't the idle hubs supposed to help...
