Why do we post questions on Hubpages?
Are we truly interested in the answers or are we more intent on raising our HUBNESS?
to learn he he, well seems more like a self promotion guise than anything else unfortunately.
There are new people everyday trying to earn extra cash. Some have been directed here for their articles probably told to brand themselves. Yet, they know very little. Then they are told that they can make big bucks here, but after a hub or two they don't see a dollar let alone big dollars.
Personally, I find people asking questions, in most cases that are sensible, and have nothing to do with their hubs.
I watch for questions and answers every day. I also find hubbers who write in areas I am interest in. I get new ideas, as well as tips.
Believe me, I do not earn anything, receive any benefits that I have noticed for asking or answering questions.
If anyone thinks this is bogus, the next time you have a question, spend hours searching the Internet if you can get through all of the hype sites that are trying to sell the next get rich thing to you.
I expect there are both types of hubbers asking questions. You can see it in the type of questions asked. Some questions are asked because the hubber really doesn't know the answer to something-quite often these are found in the Hubpages or Technology section. And then there are questions that are so bizarre in nature that you can't help but wonder if the person asked the question to increase his or her participation. And there are questions that fit somewhere in between. I try to ask questions only when I am confused about something I want answered. Others write at least one question a day.
When I was new (lol this means I am old now!), I also posted a lot of questions. Posting questions and answering questions are great ways to socialize here on Hubpages. One gets to know other hubbers and they get to know you and, hopefully, your work. Others go to Forums, to socialize.. I myself go to the Sandpit and play word games with other hubbers.. just for fun. Plus, HP encourages us to give back to the community by helping new hubbers. It seems that this socializing and giving back to the community, and of course writing good hubs, would increase your hubscore.. I'll never know because my hubscore is mediocre. ( But, I had never EVER asked 100 questions at one time.. I tried to limit myself to 99.. and I swear my intent was NOT on raising my HUBNESS.
Personally, it's mostly my curiosity. I also ask questions for research for articles and hubs. I also like to discuss the answers with family and friends. I find other peoples opinions and beliefs interesting and sometimes enlightning.
Probably for exposure or to try and raise their hub score. Probably the same reasons as why people answer questions on hubpages. Try and get some additional followers.. maybe some more hub views..
Thanks for your responses to my somewhat tongue in cheek question. I have been given some very helpful answers to previous questions and was happy that I put the questions out there. I haven't earned a cent from my time on Hubpages but get a great kick out of reading and writing Hubs. It's a sharp learning curve to get all the ingredients correct and hope to meet up with you again during our HUBTIVITY.

When I look at the questions section of hubpages I see pages and pages of silly questions. A lot of the time, when I click on "unanswered" or "latest" I see that the same person has asked ten or so questions in a row. I suspect that in most cases this is because of the fact that...

Some hubbers are taking the mick with it. It's spamming. It's not allowed in the forums. If you want attention promote yourself according to good manners. Not by over spamming in the questions section.

I have been on HubPages only for two months. I did not think that "Asking & Answering Questions" was a complicated matter. But I have come across a question that if you ask a question and then answer it with your own hub, it is "faking it". My understanding was...

Hi, I wonder why I am suddenly banned from answering questions. Is the ban permanent or temporary? I have written to the HubPages Team but I thought that I may be able to get a faster response here. Is there a guideline on how to answer questions? Honestly, I really don't know which rule I have...

How much time should you give before rendering the 'best answer' to a Hubber?Us Hubbers now have the option to award fellow Hubbers who are very helpful at answering questions here in the Q&A section, what do you think is a fair time to give many other potential answers you may...
