How can I get my links in my Hubs to open in a new window?
All the links from my Hubs open in the same window. But it seems some people have managed to figure out a way to get them to open in a new window. How can I do that?
What you do is go into the html in a text capsule and add target="_blank" to the link's code. I can't type it exactly here since html won't show up in an answer.
But hold off on this. I just read this morning (by a Pcunix comment on a Mark Ewbie hub) that Google may consider your page abandoned after it has been left for a given amount of time and its bouncerate would be no different than if no time was ever spent on your page.
So apparently if someone spent a lot of time reading your hub, clicked on a link which opened a new window, Google doesn't have an exit time for your page (since it is still open). I have asked Pcunix a question about this and will let you know what I find out.
Kristin, you're ridiculously helpful. Anyone ever told you that?
Thanks. My reasoning for wanting to have it open in a new window was a little less pagerank-oriented: I don't want my readers clicking on a link to a long article then getting engrossed in that article and forgetting all about my poor Hub.
I will await that information eagerly!

So how do I fix this? Google hates me, and I know it.

I've been resisting crying about what the latest Panda iteration is doing to traffic, but now I can't help myself. One of my highest quality hubs is one of my two on Robert Smalls, the Civil War and Civil Rights hero. It's an Editor's Choice of over 3000 words, with 5 photos, a map, a video, and a...

I'm wondering with all the new google rules and speculation about what works and what doesn't.Some hubbers stated that they deleted hubs and made changes which increased their views. Other prolific hubbers keep chugging alone and write a lot of hubs to get viewsWhich is best now?

Is it possible to add a feature to links within text and to the photos to opt to have the link open in a new window? This would allow the reader to stay on the original page. Bounce rates rise every time someone leaves a page before reading the entire article, for whatever reason. If relevant links...

I read the above quote on another thread and was wondering if anyone here can confirm that this is the case. Do you have long hubs, over 800 words? Are they doing well as far as Google traffic goes?Should I try to keep my hubs under 800 words?
