You can have as many words as you want in your hub. However, it's wise to have at least 300 words, so that it doesn't get flagged as "too short." On the other hand, if it's too long, people may not stick around to read the whole thing.

The ideal number of words would be 700 to 800 but ypu can do with some less or some more.

As many as you want. However bear in mind that too much isn't always the best.

Some of my Hubs could easily be turned into books.

Other Hubs of mine could be turned into pamphlets.

    LOL.

When writing your hub, bear in mind a few things like what HP says about content, what Google prefers as content and what people are willing to read.

The length of the hub depends on the type of article or story you are writing but the average length should be 500 - 700 while the ideal length for search engine traffic would be 700 - 1000. Remember that hubs that are too short will be flagged so try to keep it above 300. Poetry hubs are an exception.

if your hub is over 1k words create a "series" of it @ 1k words per hub- this way you get more exposure and you don't chase away those that woudl want to read it. I had hubs 12k words long that never got any traffic (lots of bounce), but when I cut it into 12 hubs they got lots of traffic.

I was told 800- 1000 is an ideal size to be found on google so I aim for that most of the time .

I don't believe there is an exact "limit". However, wordy hubs tend to not generate much traffic, so I recommend you try keeping yours short and to the point.

At the least about 400 words I would say better to be longer though.
