I have to admit I find it very fitting that an actor with substance abuse in his life plays Tony Stark (Iron Man) a character who is an alcoholic.
I HATE that they're having a black actor play Nick Fury though because Nick Fury is a white guy with brown hair touched with a bit of gray around his ears.
I think they did a good job of staying true to the overall general concept at any rate.

i don't disagree.  i think marvel was trying to be politically correct when they made that move to get samuel l. jackson to play nick fury.  however, it's still a fun movie to watch.

I wrote a couple hubs on this topic too!
    http://hubpages.com/hub/Watchmen-2009
    Gotta love Rorschach!
I was told that Jackson is Fury because in the Ultimates series the artist or writer thought it would be cool for a certain black actor to play him IF the series ever hit the screen.  it seems the people in charge of casting read the same series since they are going to do an Avengers movie eventually.
I love this scene in a regular Avengers comic where a character meets with what looks like Jackson and says:  A black bald man with an eye-patch? worst disguise ever!
    I felt vindicated.
On the other hand, I've seen Davide Hasselhoff play Fury in a TV movie so I guess things could be worse-lol!  At least Jackson is a known name and may bring in some people ho would not otherwise come see Marvel movies.
    Anyway--it's a disguise--that's all.
(Don't even talk to me about a black Harvey Dent or Kingpin-lol!
