Thanks for your generous idea sunforged - I have been a couple of times to this forum and have read a  number of the links put up such hubbers as gamer girl, Em, Benson & others,  and have really enjoyed their writing ..... so here is one of mine that just doesn't seem to have created interest...

Good call dude.  I just read Benson's and it's great.  Gonna go read Gamer's, Lgali's and Trish's now too.

I think if I was gonna pimp one of mine, I'd say my Bee Hub is one that I really liked and it just didn't get read.  I giggle at the pictures even though I did them myself, which I know is bad, you're not supposed to laugh at your own jokes, but, well.  Ok, maybe it's just me, but bees walking around with their guts pulled out their butts is funny.  /sigh  Maybe I just need therapy.

Now, I know what you're probably thinking right now; you're thinking to yourself, "I notice this author is just assuming that the Bee God is a ‘he.'" Well, to that I have only one response: Who else would create a society wherein it was almost entirely women, the women do all the work, and the role of men is simply to mate as often as they can with the most prestigious woman of the bunch?

Yeah, that's what I thought. Don't ever question me again!"

Thank you for adding this, i dont know if i would have ever found it otherwise.

It looks like you've got quite the menagerie! Tell me, are rabbits a lot of work?

We found a nest of 4 wild baby bunnies a couple of springs back - actually, my husband weedwhacked down a flower bed and found their nest. It left them completely exposed, and I couldn't bear the thought of them being picked off before their mom returned to them. So, foolishly, I loaded them into a cat carrier and took them inside. They were too little to eat solids, at first, so I went and bought kitten formula and a dropper to feed them with. Within a couple of weeks they were eating solids, were chubby, and seemed quite healthy. Then one morning when I went downstairs to feed them, two were cold and stiff. I bawled all the way to the nearby nature center where I let the other two go. It was very traumatic - I'm such a sucker.

We've got a pair of cats in addition to the dogs. Jack, our male Vizsla, just got home last night from having spent the last several months with his trainer, so our little family has been fully reunited.

          1. sunforged profile image71
sunforgedposted 15 years agoin reply to this

My house rabbit is very little work at all, rabbits are naturally very clean and come litter trained, they will eat every electrical cord in your house though, so rabbit proofing is necessary.  "Pigglefoot" has lived with me for 4 years, she comes when called (sometimes, like a cat) she dances when happy (really!) she can open doors and can jump on the bed, she will attack full grown dogs because she is territorial, but leaves my little peke/cocker mix alone (because hes little!) she also stomps like thumper during thunder storms, I plan on writing lots about my house rabbit and rabbit keeping in the future.

My rabbits are never caged and I really dont suggest getting one if that is your plan, they love and need to run around - less work and damage and smell than the average cat -similar temperament

Im sorry to hear about your kit experience, I have also had to raise a bunch by hand using a dropper and milk, for no apparent reason 2 out of the 7 died, most likely from weakened immune systems since they never had mothers milk, it was rough. But its sounds like things would have been worse off for them without your intervention as they are very susceptible to the elements and predators when little

It sounds like you did everything right, they have big litters because they are so fragile

I look forward to reading this!

Really!? I love my cats but, really, they're a pain in the ass. Actually, it's just the litterbox that I can't stand. I find myself cleaning it two or three times a day just because it grosses me out so much. My cats are in and out of my bed all the time, and it freaks me out to crawl into bed and find litter in the sheets.

I did a lot of reading on the 'Net about the bunnies because I was so worried about them. My husband thought it was funny that I got so worked up about some little wild animals... I had to put their cage up on a high shelf where the dogs and cats couldn't get to it, and I insisted on taking them outside to play in the grass every day. I did read that they were very fragile and that most that were handraised did not survive, but I was still heartbroken to lose the two.

I can't say I have one favorite hub. I have a few that I really like and that were labors of love that I knew up front would never make me any money *g*

Probably tops on that list are my Post-Apocalyptic Movies, Books and TV Shows hubs.

    Movies - http://hubpages.com/hub/Post-Apocalyptic-Movie
    Books - http://hubpages.com/hub/Welcome-to-the-Apocalypse
    TV - http://hubpages.com/hub/Post-Apocalypti … -TV-Series

The tv series hub got so long that I had to break it up because originally I was going to cover movies in that hub too.

I would find it hard to just pick one of them as a favorite as it is my beloved genre and I'm heavily into it in just about any format.
