You ask this as though it has to be an either or question.  I disagree.  I have always loved writing, however I enjoy using what I love to earn money so I write for both - love and money.

SInce I have yet to find much money in writing, I do it because I enjoy writing.  I also write hubs to get more practice, so I can build a portfolio, get better at it, and eventually, hopefully make a modest income from writing,

I'm just a geek who likes to write about "niche" subjects like horror movies and heavy metal music...both of which are guaranteed to make me no money whatsoever.

If I were doing this for the money I'd be writing about high-traffic subjects like weight loss drugs and Kim Kardashian.

Because I love writing and answering questions. It is entertaining and I joined hubpages to force me to write more often.

I write for money, but I love to write. I think that is pretty much the case for most people on here.

What is wrong with getting paid for doing something you love to do? I think if everyone could earn a living from a job they loved then the world would be a much better/happier place.

I am glad hubpages gives me a chance to earn money from writing on certain topics I have knowledge of.  So I guess I write hubs for money as well as love writing.

The most precise answer I can give is that I use my love for writing to make money. It doesn't have to be one or the other. For me it's both. When I sit down at my computer I don't want to get up because I am so in love with what I do. Not only that but I feel fulfilled that the love of my life which is writing, is making me money. So for me one is not separate from the other and that is my honest answer.

I have been writing since I was a child and it was all I fantasized about doing. There is one other thing that came close to the love of writing and that is the love of cooking and I also use that to make money. It's like my work is my hobby so I am always having fun!
