I believe it depends on your activity, in depth responses, and relevance to the subject. Some people may say something that offends others and it may be removed or flagged, so that could also affect you.
It depends on how much you run your yap on other peoples hubs. Keep it clean!

I had just been given a Level 2 Commenter Status last night and now it looks like it is gone and I have no icon for my Comment Status? Why would this happen to me?

Why is my commenter status still V1?As what I have read under my profile page, I have achieved the commenter status of V11 3 days ago. Why is it still V1?

I used to be labeled a "level five" commenter. Then I was labeled a "level three" commenter. Now I am at "level four" commenter, Can you explain why I was demoted in the first place? This is pretty embarrassing.

Some weeks ago I received the accolade of becoming a level IV commenter. However I have noted that all my comments still indicate that I am a level 4 commenter. Concerned that my accolades in general are not being accredited. Is this a glitch that corrects itself periodically?

Earlier today, I was given that accolade. Now, it has just been removed. I have done research on this, but have found nothing.of this. Why has this happened?
