Yes I do even if it takes a day or two I think people should be told thanks for what input they take the time to give.
Yes, I do. It takes time but I feel that it shows respect to those who take the time to comment. The only time I do not is sometimes the person responds back a second time on the same hub.
I try to because people take time to read the hub and leave a comment. It is really nice to appreciate the time.
Some comments need a feed back and it really nice to have a conversation going.
I, too, enjoy keeping the conversation going. So far I have had some very interesting conversations from people from India, Austrailia, and various places in the states. Why wouldn't we want to respond and get the chance to know people who too the time to reach out to us. That would be just wrong and rude.
I try to. Even once in a while I miss a notification and don't acknowledge right away. But I like to thank the person who comments because I really appreciate their reading and taking the time to comment so I always do eventually.
Yes, I do ... but sometimes, I am late in acknowledging ... because I am Writing ...
For I know, what I am writing, is The Truth ... whereas Comments, are "opinions" ... at times, subject Relevant ... and at other times, nothing more than acrid sentiments, that don't deserve a Reply.
Yes I do. If people have taken the trouble and time to not only read one of my hubs but also to comment, then it's only good manners and respect to respond to what they have said.
I acknowledge all the comments on my hubs that I know of. I try to add a good reply back.
Everything is published, unless it's a crazy personal attack, in which case they get reported and blocked (only happened once.) Other than the extremes though I welcome all thoughts.
I do my best to, and usually it is more a joy than a chore. How else can we get to know our readers other than interacting with them?
I wish that when you hit the reply button on a comment that the reply would show underneath that comment instead of at the bottom of the page. If you have a lot of comments at once, sometimes it's hard to keep track. Also that would make it easier for others who are reading the comments to see the comment and reply together.
I do too, every single one of them. If I've the time, I would go to their hubs and leave comments too. As others have already pointed out, it's not only good manners but it shows that you care.
Yes, as much as possible. But usually, comments submitted on my hub does not require acknowledgement.

There has been some controversy over comment feedback on hubs recently:http://hubpages.com/forum/topic/52513As well as people who aren't fond of "low quality" or "I'll comment on yours if you comment on mine" mentality:http://hubpages.com/hub/Why-I-prefer-un …...

When I started on hubpages I used to reply to every comment, and I still appreciate them as much as I used to...But is there a point when it becomes unneccessary to reply to comments? I think that its great when people reply to every one of their commenters, I really do, people like Sufidreamer...

I'm sure there are many reasons for and against responding to comments left by your readers. What do you think?

In another thread trish1048 made a comment about comments - I found it a bit of a shock to be honest. I'd really appreciate other viewpoints please? What she said was: "What I greatly appreciate are the hubbers who always respond to their comments. Nothing frustrates me...

Do you find that leaving comments and replying to them increases your stats, or does it take you away (time wise) from writing hubs?

Why is it that some writers do not respond to individual comments on their hubs?I noticed this with some writers who have been on HP for two years or more. They will choose to respond directly to some comments and ignore the others. Doesn't it make you feel like not commenting on these writers...
