    How do I create the sign up referral tracker on my profile?

    I've been reading around in vain, Hubs & the forums, I've pretty much learned how to add the referrals on hubs and backlinking. Though I cant figure out how to get the referral working for my profile page to get a new user to sign up. I cannot link to the sign up page, cause i'm logged in. Its pretty confusing. I tried typing it manually the code and then hyperlinking it, where it says edit profile. It ends up going to the hubpages sign up screen but without my code in it..... Any tips on how you guys did it. Much appreciated. Thank you so much in advance fellas!

    That does sound confusing and frustrating. I haven't experienced that confusion of frustration as I mostly link to another page rather than the sign up page if I am trying to get people to join HubPages using my referral link - and those other links are easy to get on the appropriate page I want to link to - at the usual place at the bottom of the screen, where it says "link to this page."

    I prefer to send possible referrals to pages other than the sign up page as other pages are more interesting, in my opinion, like the HubPages Success Stories page or The Learning Centre page.

      Teresa, I agree with you, I prefer the 'link to this page' option when creating referral trackers within a url. Unfortunately, that will not work for the sign up page on HubPages, which is what Clayton Fernandes was attempting to do.

    Your link to the signup page should look something like this:

    http:// hubpages.com/_YourTrackerGoesHere/user/new/ (note, I added a space between hmm/ and hubpages to deactivate the link for this post)

    If you are not logged in the link will take you to the HubPages sign up page. Note, all trackers quickly disappear after clicking. You'll see it for a spilt second before it arrives to the page. This is normal.

    I hope this helps. smile

      Omg thank you so much miss olive, really you have a gift for dumbastic hubbers like me. All that was missing in my link was the / after typing out http://hubpages.com   i saw it wrong somewhere and going to notify the writer. Thank you so much!

      I do exactly what, or what I believe to be exactly... And I attempt to apply it to my profile page and all I get is an inaccessible link that shows my tracker number on it... It really is confusing to say the least.. Claytons was a typo and easy fix

      @CriticalMessage

      1) you need to be signed off of HubPages (like the general visitor that does not have a HubPages account)
      2) the link should look like this, http:// hubpages.com/_YourTrackerGoesHere/user/new/ (remove the GAP between the // and h)
