    The thing that I find most beneficial about HubPages is that it can be fairly easy to get ranked on the first page of Google, allowing you to direct lots of free visitors to your hubs.
    I'm not a fan of backlinking and self promotion so I am glad that if you pick the right keywords and make your hub high quality it has a really good chance of being indexed by Google. Also, with the latest Google updates, such as Penguin, you really need to know how to backlink without being penalized by Google.
    I'd rather be safe than sorry and not do something silly to ruin the relationship between my hubs and being ranked in Google.

    Learning from reading different answers to questions. I love having a place that encourages me to write and a website that I can enjoy talking to other hubbers.
