Are there any sites like HubPages but for Artwork?

Sites that would pay for advertising that artwork would bring in.

In short, how would an artist make money online via his work?

There are things like Shutterstock for photography, but are there equivalents for artists?

if an artist likes your work on http://www.newgrounds.com you get paid if you get at least 20,000 to your page.  It is not hard to get that many hits in a few months time if you keep adding artwork.  Also game developers may use your art work for their games.  It is just hard to get someone to approve your art work.

You can try Redgage. They do revenue sharing like Hubpages, and you can post just about anything there - photos, art, blogs, articles, etc. Photos and art seem to do the best (you'd have to post your art under "Photos," as they don't have a separate category for it).

The site can be glitchy at times, though.

Ah yes, I'm actually already on RedGage and it is indeed glitchy! And so it's allowed to post art as photos on RedGage? It might not be worth it though since the payout is soo small.
