Who is supposed to cut grass on road?
We just bought a house and still need to know a lot of things. One thing I want to ask now is who is supposed to cut the grass on the road in-front of the house? I saw neighbors cutting grass themselves, I thought council was supposed to cut the grass on public road. When I asked one of them, she told me that I have to cut it in-front of my house. Whats the rule in your area?
Near our house we do it.
If it's just on 'neutral' ground such as the grass on the side of a road not near any houses then the councils slashes it.
But they seldom do.
My rule is that if the grass needs cut, I cut it. I don't care who is supposed to do it. If you want it done right, I say do it yourself. I like things in my immediate neighborhood to appear nice and neat. Well yeah, I got this $400 weed wacker I like to use. I'll even do some of my neighbor's property that borders mine if it really needs it. I apply the same logic to shoveling the snow off the sidewalks. If my neighbor's needs it, I do it. I worry about people trying to walk on the sidewalks in deep snow. Nobody has ever said to me don't touch my grass or snow.
