Why is it that every time I submit a hub, my hubber score goes down considerably?
When hubs are first published, they tend to have scores in the 50s or 60s. That might pull your score down somewhat.
My Hubber score goes down also for a few days, but I have noticed a trend. My hubber score doesn't go as low as it used to and when it rises, it goes higher than it used to. (I don't think I have ever been at 96 before and I haven't published in a few days).
Also, it is rare that I start a Hub, write it to completion, and publish all in one sitting. Those hubs do tend to have a Hub score in the 50's or 60's. I usually work on my hubs over a few days, write some, add more, edit, touch up, etc. By the time I publish, my hub scores are usually in the 70's.

Sometimes when I have ideas for hubs, I "start a hub" and sometimes finish it later or just let it sit there for a while. Maybe I should just write down my hub ideas instead. Does it hurt my hub scores or...
