    What exactly is the advantage of the idle hubs feature?

    None of my hubs are idle at the moment, but I was reading the learning centre entry on the feature. The explanation for the feature is a little confusing. It reads: "Sometimes a couple of underperforming Hubs can hurt the reputation of your entire online portfolio in the eyes of search engines." What is your reputation? Do search engines penalise you for low-traffic posts? Wouldn't that create the same problems as the idle feature (e.g. seasonal hubs never getting traffic)?

    The advantage of the idle hubs feature is to HubPages itself. It helps the website rank higher in Google when they remove low-circulating, low-quality, or outdated hubs.

    For example, there are tons of writers on HubPages from other countries who cannot put an English sentence together correctly. It hurts the reputation of the site to have entire hubs that are published in such broken English.

    The idle hubs feature allows all users to write as they wish in the Hubber community, but helps ensure that HubPages looks more professional in the eyes of search engines.
