Optimizing Hubs: how many hubs do you have that get 100 page views a day?
I thought I was doing well until I read the latest exhortation from HP staff to analyse my hubs. Evidently a hub is only thought to be doing well if it gets 100 ‘hits’ a day. Uh-oh!
Is everyone else getting this number of views to a large number of hubs?
i think its only one hub is enough to get 100 hits a day!
just have to optimize the hub
I read somewhere here on the site that only 5% of Hubs get 100+ views a month and that less than 1/3 of them get 10+ views a month. I have a feeling that these stats are accurate.
I hope that's true, it makes me feel better. I have never had a hub get anywhere near 100 views a day, although I have had some get 100-200 views a month.
I have 5 hubs that get 100 -200+ views a month but only one that gets 100+ a day - about muesli of all things! It does not have all the gizmos HP insists a hub should have. So why is it consistently at the top? It just gives the info. .. that’s why.
I have 126 Hubs as of this very minute, and only three of them are getting around a hundred hits a day. They're all on different subjects, so it's kind of hard to duplicate the type of article. They're also not among my highest scoring Hubs, either. Most of my other Hubs get between 3 and 15 hits a day.
Interesting. I can understand if you don't want to divulge too much info on this, but do your apprenticeship hubs perform better than hubs where you came up with the topic yourself?
The AP only chooses your titles the first month. None of my 100+ view Hubs are from the AP. They're all Hubs that I've had up for several months.
It would be interesting to see if any of your hubs from the AP do out perform your other hubs in time, Georgie … it might be indicative of something.
Angie, one of the things that makes the AP so useful is that you learn things and can go back and reevaluate your older Hubs with the lessons you've learned. I've gotten a lot more traffic since I started working on older ones.
I have 0 hubs that get 100+ views per day.
However, I have many Infobarrel articles, written on topics similar to my hubs' topics, that do get 100+ views per day.
If you are deciding which subjects are worth writing about and which are duds, don't be too discouraged by hubs with little traffic. The platform you're writing on could have more to do with it than the actual content.
I have a slew of hubs that have had less than 100 hits, ever! Does that mean that they are wrong and do not serve a purpose? No. They do not need to be deleted and substituted for something more popular. If your dog has demodectic mange, acne, or is put on a drug like Slentrol, you might find these hubs helpful. The Slentrol hub, for instance, is on the first page of Google, but the information is not searched for that often.
I also have a few hubs that are getting more than 100 page views per day. They serve their purpose, provide the information that is being searched for, and cannot be made into a larger number of hubs.
(Georgie and I started about the same time and have similar statistics. I wonder if part of the performance is not due to the time a hub is available on a search engine?)
My three top performers were published in April, May and June, pretty much right after I started. I'm starting to see the traffic pick up on others now, however. Maybe they've aged enough to be shared by Google?
I had to go check when I read your comment. I think I had a longer "learning curve" as mine were from June, July, and August. The newer ones are way at the bottom (or buried deep, whatever).
I’m coming to rely on you for a lucid answer to things on HP and a clear explanation as to how things really might work here, Mark. You seem to cut through the HP hype and continual jollying exhortations that often make one feel like a failure.
To me this seems like an impossibility. Say someone had 100 hubs x 100 views per day would equal 10,000 total views per day in which it would only take them 10 days to reach 100,000. I would love to know if anyone is even close to doing this? So, I would say to not worry about it, this is impossible.
Put like that, yes … it is extremely unlikely : ) I suspect only a few of us have a large number of hubs that make 100 views per day … perhaps someone will now tell me I’m wrong and they have loads of hubs that regularly make 100 views a day
Yes, I would love to know if someone is this successful also.
I am following someone (whitney05) who has had over 10million views, but with about 1000 hubs. I guess it is impossible but I do not know how quickly those views are happening, or if she has that many getting 100/day.
Not for us mere mortals!
I have one hub, Balanced Scorecard - Advantages and Disadvantages, that hovers around that number of views. The next closest has half that many visits.
I have a couple that have gotten 100 in one day, but none that do consistently. For me a hub that gets 40 a day is excellent. I wish they all did.
Pffft. I do a happy dance if I get 100 hits per day spread out over ALL of my Hubs, never mind 100 per day per Hub!!!
The internet is a big place. You would only need one great hub to get 100 page views a day.
First concentrate on the quality of the hub and once you're happy with the hub it's all about promoting. Promoting is super important. If you don't promote it's a waste of a great hub!

I have not really even followed what is going on here time to time and been writing very erratically. Now it seems that all the different revenues coming in might be worth a shot. Anyway I'm just curious about everybody, not just top writers, how many hits you got so far and do you have one hub...

I spend a lot of time analyzing my work here so that I know which topics are doing well, which need updating and which need to be deleted. I use a number of techniques such as using the 30 day page view count rather than the "ever" views, doing searches for my topics to see what the...

Why do you think the hub with the highest score was scored higher than your others? Interested to know.
