Can I delete a hub and add it to my own blog ?
I wish to initially set up few interlinked hubs and then later move the content to my website. Is it possible and safe ? How good and how bad is that ?
You can add your hubs to blogs, websites, etc. And still leave them published here. There is no rule against doing this.
I agree with JThom42. Just copy the url of your hub. Make a comment about it on your website (an introduction, a little summary, etc.) and then link back to the hub. That way you have double the exposure.
I am so glad you answered that because I too have been wondering if that could be done. So, thanks from me too.
JThomp42: If you do write a summary etc., which I did before but removed, how would it look at the website? Do you create a different URL for that summary/blog? Would the URL be similar in scope or would you have to create something really different?
I am wondering if google thinks my content is copied if I use it in my blog ... is it so ?

I am still pretty new to online writing so can someone explain why it is better to post articles on hubpages rather than your own blog? it cost nothing to make a blog, you can lay it out like a webpage, and keep all the ad revenue.
