Do you think hubpages is getting good questions?

    Why or why not?

Like I was always told; There is no such thing as a stupid question. The way I look at it is anything that promotes bringing the Hub Community together is a good thing. I would never criticize someone's question even if it it didn't appeal to me. If I find the question interesting or I feel like I have something to offer to the conversation then I jump in. Every question has an answer and someone will probably find a need to participate in each and every question. So while the questions might not always be deep philosophhical or controversial questions; they get us Hubbers interacting and I think that's a good thing.

A lot of them seem to be questions for the sake of improving HP rank/ points. Annoys me because the first time I ever posted a question, just as lame as most I see here, mine was flagged and deleted right away.

Overall yes, the questions on HubPages are good.  However, I do question why some Hubbers have their questions featured over and over again?  What basis does HubPages use to feature a question (so people see it when they are checking their account).

There is always room for improvement when it comes to asking a variety of different questions.  And a great deal of the questions I do see within the community are certainly worthy of mention...including yours.  It largely depends on the topic being discussed, or questioned, besides the initial question itself.

My personal view is no, I see too many questions in broken English, and too many "How are you today?" or "Why do you like your cat?" type questions. However, I'm willing to bow to the majority on this, and it seems like most people can tolerate it. After all, I can just ignore or flag the utter dross.

In my opinion yes. It's because most of the questions are genuine question. In hubpages most of the hubber concentrate on generating revenue by writing articles instead of asking questions frequently. Most of the users are asking question when they are actually looking for an answer.

I think whenever you have so many diverse people with all kinds of different interests, the questions will reflect that. The great thing is, you only need to respond to whatever ones interest you. It is one of those cases where you can please some of the people some of the time, but you can't please all of the people all of the time!
Liked your question, by the way!

There are some good ones and some, well, not so good.  I see some people consistently asking excellent questions, and I enjoy jumping in and answering.  I know that some will say that there are no stupid questions.  I am going to disagree with that statement here.  In a classroom where a student isn't understanding a concept, there is no stupid question.  Here on HubPages, there certainly are such questions and I have fun with those as well.  Right now I am having a blast with a couple of very thoughtless questions.  I have asked a couple of really bad questions myself that I would like to go delete.  Good questions take a lot of intelligent thought both in content and in form.  My hat is off to  those who do it well consistently.

I think it's hit and miss. You have those people that will post 20-30 questions all at once that have no answers to them even days later.

It's readily apparent those are trying to get the accolades or trying to improve their hubber score.

I think that any question that gets deserves a reply is a good question. I always try to post questions that people can reply about.

No. Most of the questions posted here are obviously posted either to troll, or for the sake of posting questions.

Many of them seem pointless or stupid, or they're asking something that has been answered dozens of times previously.

I asked a good question yesterday. I got no response.

But I do like answering questions, because it's a better way to get my ideas heard than through posting an essay. I typically never give my opinion unless someone asks it. Here, people are polite enough to ask what we think and I get to express my opinion without feeling like a jackass.

Like all things, some are some aren't. I guess what's an important question to one person may not be to another. There is room for us all, whatever level of Hubber we are. Saying that, sometimes there are some ridiculous and negative questions.

As mentioned, the questions are usually a reflection of the persons own interest and might not be well suited for everyone. The only problem that really bothers me is how the question is formed. Example question - do you like cats? This question is flat and without inspiration and might be more exciting and reach a wider audience if it was asked, Which do you prefer, dogs or cats and why? The other item is people that never answered the question that was posted and instead head off into some distant tangent...oh sorry about that. To answer your question - yes Hubpages is getting some good and interesting questions. Cheers...

There are many good questions, but there is an overabundance of questions that could be answered if the person just did a quick internet search or check the encyclopedia.

The questions posted here fall into three categories : Very Good, Good, and Average. We do have several mediocre questions being asked from time to time, but I guess these people may have asked these questions just to gain a bit of publicity which of course nothing is wrong with this! We all need to market our hubs. They just need to post some more helpful or meaningful questions.
