How do I make a screen shot look like a crisp picture on hubpages.
I added some screenshots on my last hub. They look great on my screen, but when I put them in my hub they look illegible. What can I do to make them look better? Here is my example. I took a screen shot of an invoice and did some text over write to highlight significant points of interest. However, it is illegible when I upload it into my hub.
Photos that span the full width of a hub are only 520 pixels wide. That is not a very big image, so an image with really small text, such as yours, is not going to be legible. To get an idea of what an image will look like on a hub you can shrink the image down to 520px and set the zoom to "actual pixels."
Not sure if you know it or not, but when you upload an image, Hubpages automatically creates several variants. They create a 260px wide image for half-width images, a 520px wide image for full-width images and a 1024px wide image for your slideshow view. Someone reading your hub can click on the 520px wide image and it brings up the 1024px wide slideshow image which is large enough to be legible. What you could do is just add a caption beneath that image saying "click for a larger image."
Thank you for your answer Junkseller. It was helpful. I put a section under my picture to tell my readers the main points of the photo.
In addition to what junkseller said, keep in mind any format is automatically converted to a medium resolution jpeg. Even if you upload a crisp png file, it will never have as good a resolution once uploaded to hubpages. You might have to alter your images so that they still look decent on HP.

I wish to save somebodies profile pic as a jpg, preferably larger than the one shown, in order to do a suprise tribute hub to them. Dont worry, they would appreciate it, and it wont be too sickly.I know that there is a way because somebody was on here upset that somebody had used their profile pic...

I have gone in and deleted the image from the article posted and my photo gallery but for some reason:http://s1.hubimg.com/u/5567772_100.jpgThe image is still there. Can anyone tell me how to get rid of this? I have sent emails to the help team and gotten no response. Is there another...

There seems to be two issues. Firstly tapping on an image on a mobile device doesn't expand an image. Maybe it's not supposed to? I tried doing the two fingered thing on the unexpanded image, but it was impossible to read the text on it, although I know it's legible on my original image. The same...

I guess it is official. All articles have the images automatically set to full width starting today.I am ambivalent about this decision. I understand the reason it was proposed but still, for some of us with a few hundred articles, it is very time consuming to go back and fix this. In some cases,...
