Question about unpublishing hubs
Okay, let’s say you have hub titled: St. Patrick’s Day in New York 2013. You publish it and it gets hits but then fades away. Then as 2014 approaches you decide to publish a new hub called St. Patrick’s Day in New York 2014. If you unpublish the 2013 hub, can you then copy parts of the old hub into your new one as long as it is unpublished and de-indexed? (This is assuming you want a new URL with the date as part of it). Some information will be new and some could be a repeat from the other one.
You will have to make sure it is no longer indexed with Google before you use parts from it. If you do not make sure, it will get a hit as being copied. Otherwise there is no problem with this. I do not remember how long it takes for Google to de-index it.
Thanks Becky. It seems then that a strategy like this would work if you are writing seasonal hubs that you want to update and change the URL to go with the new year or event. I'm trying a combination of some evergreen and some seasonal that might do well but I wanted to know before I tried it if something like this might work without problems. Again, I appreciate your response.
