    Writing about alcohol?

I know that there are certain subjects that are not well-received by adsense.  I'm looking for clarification about writing about alcohol.  Can someone write a hub about something like: Best Bars in Atlanta or is that a problem?

No, I would not think that this would be a word that would trigger the filters. Such as a word like abortion, or homosexual, etc.

Okay.  I just remember something about promotion of alcohol and didn't want to work on something for days only to have it not be usable.

Just in case write (team@hubpages) and ask them. I have a friend on here who wrote about his alcoholism and its effects.

There seems to be a fine line when it comes to topics such as this. You may not for example, write a hub that promotes smoking, but you may write a hub about how to stop, or how unhealthy it is, etc.

I personally don't think there would be a problem with a hub about bars. What I tend to do in situation like this is search for similar hubs - if they can do it, so can I (although they might have warnings on their hubs that you cannot see); look in the FAQ and learning centre; and if I'm still unsure, ask the HP team by sending them an email.

Let what already exists on Hubpages be your guide.  You can find plenty of recipes for alcoholic drinks, reviews of bars and alcoholic beverages, all containing Adsense ads.  And if you look beyond HubPages, most webpages that review or write about alcohol in the context of food and drink are running Adsense ads too.

Logic would indicate that those topics must be Adsense-safe.

What's not allowed on HP are articles promoting getting drunk, how to pass a breathalyzer test, giving minors alcohol, etc. Stuff that's illegal or irresponsible.  Use your common sense and you'll be fine.
