Am I the only one who has supposedly "low quality" poems for hubs?
Or is it just me? I find it rather annoying that hp doesn't seem to bother having different quality standards for a poem vs. a how-to hub. It borders on insulting in my mind, to say that my poem isn't a quality hub just because it's not long enough for them.
I had a similar issue with two of my creative writing pieces. It was just hours after I published those two that they became idle. I added a sentence to each one and they were published almost instantly. Apparently they fell short of the required 8 that I needed. I thought they were high quality, so I was kind of put out. I haven't had trouble with my poems so far, but I can relate.
I am having a situation like this too. My piece has traffic, comments etc, and it is still not featured cause of "quality" is it the word number, I wonder? Any help?
It must be the word number because that's why a couple of mine are now "low quality". My longer ones are just fine. "Drip Drop:, my poem, isn't featured and it has a low word count, but something like "Spider Slayer" is because it's a bit longer.
I added a sentence or two and another picture and the piece is now featured. Go figure! Thanks for the discussion and tips!
I know.. my poem is short enough when compared to the how to-hubs.. but what matters is what we write.. I have only one poem in my list, thinking of publishing another..poems cannot be considered as low quality hubs just because they are not long enough...poems also have their own standards..
There are ongoing issues with HP over poetry - restrictive capsules, length of poem and subject matter to name a few. I agree with you - a poem is a poem no matter how lomng or short and that length should be decided by the author...BUT as a creative writer on HP you have to weigh up the pros and cons. It's great that there's a platform for poetry, one which potentially can attract many readers and responders, plus you have a great deal of feedback and guidance available.
I write poetry on HP and prefer to gather a few together rather than publish them separately. This could be option for you - then you can write very short poems without fear of the hub going idle.
Hope this helps, a little.
Yes, I have encountered this issue many, many times. Make sure when starting your hub you specify it as poetry. This may help a little, but it seems that Google wants nothing to do with poetry.
Not yet, but I am sure as they run all the older hubs thru the QAP process it will happen. It has happened to three of my recipes. RECIPES for heaven sake!! Ingredients - instructions - what else do they need?
I am so close to pulling everything off here. They have gone nuts around here.

Does anyone have poems that do exceptionally well?I have two poems that are doing very, very well and I have to admit I'm surprised. One is about the computer the other the mother of the groom.

the following hubs are in the main my poems but it seems that if some action doesn't follow by 25th March they will be unpublished because they don't fit the current mould!...a poem is not like text it takes a concept and enlarges the subject matter in few words and the fewer the better sometimes!...

I have had a few poems receive non-featured status. I've been able to revive them by adding a couple of text paragraphs to expound on the topic of the poem while maintaining the integrity of the poem. It lengthens the hub, extending its survival, and therefore, making it more searchable. I've also...
