What is best in using the feature located under our profile editing page when it comes to ...?

I have noticed the feature that one can either choose to either click to show all unfeatured hubs or to show only featured hubs.  Is there any significance as to one's score as to which one one selects?  All of my hubs are featured except when publishing a newly published hub going through the pending process.  Which is better to click, the one where only featured hubs show up on your profile page or does it really matter, when a hub is first published for it to show up on one's profile page before HP says it is featured?  I have never been clear as to what is best.

Interesting question. I don't know the answer about the scores. For now I only have 43 hubs and all are featured. I do have my profile to so any visitor can see the entire list even if a hub becomes unfeatured. I did so because, if I do have some not featured at a later date, I think some people might still want to read them if they can find them that way.

Hi sheilamyers, all of my hubs are featured, but during the publishing pending process I am wondering about us featuring it ourselves is a bad idea or does it matter?  Thanks for answering.

Personally, I recommend to show all unfeatured Hubs.

As time goes by, you will find you get some Hubs which are unFeatured due to lack of traffic.  If no one can see them, they have no hope of ever recovering - so it's important to have somewhere people can see them!  In fact, I put my "unFeatured for lack of engagement" Hubs in my slider.

Low quality Hubs will hurt your account and lose you traffic.  But if you're confident your unFeatured Hubs are good quality, and it's just a lack of traffic that's causing them to be unFeatured, then you won't do any damage by showing them on your profile.

Hi Marisa, well, all my hubs are featured, I am thinking of when we initially publish a new hub, is it best to allow HP to go through the pending process and not for us to put it on our profile ourselves?

Faith, there is no way to put an article on your profile yourself.

The "show unFeatured" feature is designed for Hubs which have BECOME unfeatured, it has nothing to do with Hubs that are in Pending.

Oh, so they are not really "unfeatured" during the pending, as I do place them in my highlighted part of my profile when the option is clicked for showing unfeatured before they are actually featured by HP.  A lot do this, but wondering if wise?

Faith, that option on your profile is primarily intended for Hubs which are unFeatured LATER.   You're going to get so few views during the "pending" period that it's simply not worth the effort to even think about it.

Oh, okay, thanks so much.  That is what I thought, but one's hub sure does show up I noticed on the page and I could highlight it, but just wondering about the indexing by Google is why I asked.  Thank you again.

I have mine set on showing all. I figured if one got unfeatured for a few hours, someone might be looking for it. Also before they get featured, it is nice for people to be able to find it. Mine have all been featured for a while, but I still keep it showing all. I don't think it makes any difference in the scores.

Thanks Becky, that is what I was wondering, as all of mine are featured, but when we publish a new one, does it harm our score to have it showing on our profile page before even HP finished its pending process?  Concerned about Google not indexing?

Now that you mention it, it doesn't show until it finishes pending. I am so sorry if I misled you.

Oh no, Becky, for we can make it show, under our profile settings there is a place to click to always show unfeatured hubs, and then one can highlight it on our profile page while it is still pending. So, I was wondering if that is okay or not?

Faith, I do know that they help you in the search engine. Always use your best performing hubs for these 6 locations. Your profile is considered to be your home page, just as a website has a home page. As far as your score, I wouldn't think it would help or hurt, but I'm not sure. I believe up votes and down votes reflect your score among other things, not my expertise. Hope this helps some:)

Hi lyric, all my hubs are featured...six locations,i.e., FB,  pinterest, twitter and such? Sorry? My score was up to 97 and then has just dropped. I wondered if someone has been voting down, where can one tell if such is going on, in traffic sources?

People voting down has a tiny, insignificant effect on your score

Hi Marisa, oh really, where are the vote downs indicated in one's account, under traffic source as a '1 or what?  I do not show any, but just wondered where one could see if hubs are being voted down? Thanks for answering.

Votes up and down on Hubs are not visible to anyone.  They are an old feature which was made invisible and downgraded substantially in value a long time ago.

Oh, I understand, you are referring to those hubs we can highlight on our profile page.  I am talking about under account where if one may have any unfeatured, should we choose to click that feature for all to show up.  I do not have any unfeatured.
