My advice to you would be:
Write more hubs. The more you write, the more people you will get coming to your hubs. If they are on similar topics, you will get people visiting more than one of your hubs. (I get 1.5 views for every 1 visitor)
Post about your hubs on Social media (I use Pinterest, Google+ and Facebook).
Good luck and hope your traffic improves to a level that you are happy with.
For a traffic kick start, read and comment on other's hubs, participate in the community (forums and Q&A) so people will get to know you and thus, visit your hubs. Hubbers who like your work will share with their followers. Hubbers will either pin or post/Like your articles on FB. Also, as Robbie says, use social media likeTwitter.I have had other hubbers on Twitter retweet/mention my articles. Ultimately, you want organic traffic but HP traffic helps.

If we pump up our use of social media, i.e., marketing our articles more, will it help increase our traffic much? Or won't it make much difference because we are more dependent upon organic traffic? Something tells me we might have to wait out this drought. What say you?

I log on every day, and it seems that I always find negative things popping up in the forums. I am sorry that so many people are struggling on HubPages. From SEO issues to having popular hubs unfeatured for a multitude of reasons, it seems very discouraging for any newcomers. When I first got here...
