Has anyone else had a major drop in traffic during the past few days?
Total traffic to my hubs has dropped nearly in half, or less than the traffic on one day (a week ago) to my most successful/most visited hub. What gives? Another Google change? It is so disheartening to update and tweak my hubs, watching my traffic grow each month since the last "disaster" period, only to have the bottom drop out. Not again!
That's not happy news. Since my best hub (LESS than 50% today of its daily traffic prior to my sudden drop) is also my best moneymaker, it's already decreasing my daily earnings.
Not at all, Jaye...a slight drop in revenue but we're only talking about 10%.
Bill, you have a much higher volume of hubs (terrific ones) than I do. I suppose I'm counting on a few hubs on this site for traffic and revenue while having "too many irons in the fire" overall to write (or finish) more. (Pardon the cliche.)
Jaye
Traffic does seem to go up and down--often radically--for no obvious reason. Some of it is related to the seasonality of some subjects, though. I'm seeing anything garden-related swing upward right now. This is the time of year when gardeners are browsing seed and nursery catalogs. Maybe some of your stuff is more seasonal than you think?
Thanks for your response, blueheron. I do have a few seasonal hubs, but my best-performing ones (including the absolute best) are evergreen. That's why it's such a jolt to see my traffic drop about 50% after watching it thrive.
It seems a lot of people have been suffering with this Jaye. I know it's probably not what you want to hear but I'd just be patient for now. I can see you are an established hubber with good content. Just keep writing regularly and it will work itself out in the end. Obviously if it continues for a month or so then a little more research into potential problems might be required, but I'd hold tight for now.
Thanks, nutritionhub....I should heed your counsel since I've experienced the drops before and they finally resolved. I think the sudden drop shocked me since I expected my numbers to keep climbing as they've done for a few months. Jaye

Has anyone experienced a real drop in traffic and revenue in the last two days or so?Since I've started writing again the traffic to my hubs was climbing steadily. The last day or two my earnings got halved and then halved again today. I'm down from 800+ views a day to somewhere around 300. I...

I have checked with three hubber friends. All four of us have had a reported drop in traffic of significant amount. I am talking about 30 - 35% drop over night. Is this just another temporary glitch in the Hub Page system, as has happened before, or something else. Adsense data seems to show...

My CTR at Hubpages has been taking a nosedive, about half from normal. I decided to not panic, figuring Hubpages was just experimenting with ad placements or something similar. However, it's been a month now, and still my click-thrus are way below my normal rate. I thought maybe it was because of...

So in the past 6 months we have all endured a real rollercoaster ride thanks to the big G. Many of us are still really struggling while some of us have reached new heights with our page views. I am happy to say I am in the second group of people, my views are better than they have ever...
