How can I earn a commission from an Amazon product sold for which I have no link or mention?
I just read my monthly Amazon sales report and was astonished to discover I'm credited with a commission for a "personal" product not mentioned in any of my hubs and for which I certainly didn't provide a link. This is confusing, and it's obvious I don't understand how the Amazon sales program works if I'm being paid because someone bought a product I didn't endorse. Does anyone understand why this would happen?
I think its because they go through your product link on your hub, then browse around a bit till they find what they want. because it goes through your link you get the automatic 'sale' money, not so much as you would have earned if they had bought your product but still a percentage. Good eh? lol!
Oh, wow! I thought I'd only earn if a reader bought a product shown on one of my Amazon links. I actually made a larger amount from this sale (even though the reader obviously browsed far afield from the item on my link) because it was pricey. Thanks
I think Nell has your answer for this! It's just great to have the commission!
You're right! I now hope that anyone who follows one of my Amazon links browses all over the website and eventually buys something expensive or multiple items. It is definitely good to have the commission and will boost my monthly HP earnings. Thx!
Nell is completely correct. Congrats on the sale Jay!
Maybe you can encourage more browsing of that nature and increase your earnings. It may be a product that you will do well linking to from a relevant hub.
Considering the "nature" of that particular product, I won't be publishing a relevant hub to which I can link it (not that HP would allow it.) Haha. I didn't even know Amazon sold that type of product. I think I blushed.
As others have said, once someone clicks on an Amazon link from one of your Hubs and makes a purchase, you earn comission. As an example someone bought a vacuum the other day from one of my Hubs, I have never written, recommended, endorsed or mentioned any vacuum cleaners in any of my Hubs, ever!
That's great! I think I'm going to really like this Amazon commission program because, once a reader gets to the Amazon site it's easy to browse and buy. Thanks for your comment.

I tend to use photos of Amazon products from the product's page when I'm promoting them on an article and just credit them to Amazon. This probably isn't such a good idea, but if the product is being promoted would they mind I wonder? The complication of course is the seller on Amazon might not own...

Hi all!I had a Amazon product link removed because apparently it didn't meet the necessary requirements. The link went out to the book I have used as a reference in the article and have paraphrased the authors' statements. Doesn't this imply that I have personally used this book? I own this book...

Will placing a direct Amazon product link in the hub pay if someone buys the product from it?I know that if someone clicks on a product in the Amazon capsule and buys it then the hubber gets paid for it. But what if someone clicks on a direct link to an Amazon product and then buys it, will the...

I think I missed something here but have recently seen some discussions about in-text Amazon links v Capsules. How do you put in text links in, is there a special way? Do I just get the link that I get from Amazon when I go on there and choose the product? Or does this only work for people who have...

I've checked the learning center and unless I've missed it can't find the information to enlarge the image of an amazon product. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
