Why do hubscores drop when you edit a published hub?

I have seen both drop and rise in hub-score after editing a hub. For one hub, I noticed that after formatting it well (adding bullet points, numbering, etc) and adding a 2nd image, the hub-score rose the next day by 2 points. For another hub, I had changed the title as I found the previous title too generic, and the next day the hub-score dropped by 1 point. But it also showed drop in traffic (blue triangle). After that I concluded that editing may or may not affect hub score, but drop or rise in traffic definitely changes it.

I would love to have an honest answer here. Sometimes I don't even edit hubs but since I open them up they go from 100 to 73 in a few days - without me changing a thing! Makes no sense.

So would I, misslong. I edited my hubs a few times, got quite discouraged by the drop, and then decided to remove them entirely. I haven't been active here as a result of the strange workings of the scores.
