My hubs keep reporting that there are broken Links, but I haven't used any, what does it mean?

I've just finished a hub, and before its even had time to publish a message came up saying there were broken links, now I only linked to two of my own other work on hubpages, but those words that come up blue (for advertising) are the links that are failing, is this going to affect my hub being featured??  Kind of unfair that they aren't links I added but its still affecting my hub.  Which brings me to another ad related question, who the hell thought it was ok to place ads on top of hubs, rather than beside them?? Ive tried to read a few already that had sentences not visible because of ads..

Yes, I get a message of a broken link when I link one of my hubs, too! So, just remove the link and you'll be fine. My hubs that received this type of message were featured.

If you are having serious trouble with ads interfering with the quality of appearance of your hub, you have the option to disengage the links under your edit mode of the hub you wish to fix. It's in the edit mode on the far, lower right, called DISPLAY OPTIONS. Click on that and you'll see where it asks you if you want ads ON or OFF.

Tip: The ads will appear on the sides if you have a nice, full-size photo at the top of your hub.

I hope this has helped. I look forward to reading your hub.

    Blessings!

The  phrase "you have the option to disengage the links" was intended to read "you have the option to disengage the ads." I apologize for any confusion.

Another option which I discovered were the photos. Edit each photo, one at a time, and check the box 'do not show'. Click save and see if the warning has gone. If it is still there go to the next photo and try that one. Keep this up until it is gone, if it is not gone then it must be your ads as Marie Flint was saying. Remember to to re-show all of your photos.

When your hub gets published, Examiner, the broken links are supposed to show in pink highlight when you are in edit mode for the hub.

I know. I had to go through this and clear the warning, then show that photo again to test that link and find out why it was broken. Then I would go to the site and either correct it or replace it.

Do you have any videos posted or images?  If you have a video click on it see if it plays.  It should be high lighted in pink (I think)  but the last time this happened to me it was not high lighted

I have two video's both working fine.  I have disabled the ads, but there are still some there showing up in pink highlight.  I dont think its affecting my hub being featured though.  Thanks so much for your help smile

I just had a disembodied video on my one HOTD, Belleart. I didn't see a pink-highlighted message, either. When I clicked on it, though, a message appeared in the video screen saying the video was no longer available due to a copyright claim. Fixed.
