Do you get email notifications of a comment on your hub, but when you check, there is no comment?
I've had this happen several times in the last week or so. The email says that so-and-so has left a comment on your hub. I go check and the comment isn't there. It usually shows up much later. Have you seen this as well?
Chris I have never had that happen. My problem is not getting the email telling me a comment has been made. Both your problem and mine indicate a human interference as machines generally do exactly what your tell them to do. Or perhaps the techies do not know how to tell the machine what to do.
Eric, so the problem may be broader than I have described. We will see if this is the extent of it or if there is more to the issue. Hopefully the staff will have some answers and solutions.
A few hours ago I posted a comment on "no reply" of yours Chis. For some reason I went back 15 minutes later and my comment was not there. I went back 10 minutes ago and it was there. Pretty strange.
I haven't had this happen - so far! But I shall be looking for it now... I hope they sort it out if it is a technical problem which I suppose it must be.
Ann, People who leave comments are very special to all of us. For their comments to be hung up in the software jungle is not a good way to promote interaction on HP. It needs to be quick, like a chatroom.
I quite agree. There seem to be glitches now and then but all should be fixed quickly.
Hi Chris, came back to tell you that I had two comments on different hubs the day before yesterday and received notication but no comments were there. I commented that I didn't see his comments. He sent an email to click on filter.
I haven't had this problem but I have noticed that if there's more than one comment under a post then the comments are sometimes hidden.
under the first comment. Like the one above this one says 'See all 2 comments'. If you click on that you'll see all the comments that were made concerning the comments to comments
On the comment area of my hubs, it isn't set up to have comments on comments, only comments on the hub itself.
Yes, my Friend. With Deb, a great friend of mines. Sometimes I don't see my comments either. The ups and downs of Hub Pages new System, I suppose.
Okay, so someone else does have this happen. I'm still waiting for a comment that came in since I published this question. Thanks for the feedback.
You are welcome, Manatita. I have sent an email to the staff of HP about the issues we discussed hear. I hope there can be some resolution soon. I am still having the same issues.
Me too, so thanks. I wrote a longer comment from the train but lost it with signal probs. Good on you.
From Christy Kirwan of HP"..Engineering has isolated the problem and it should be fixed shortly. Thanks for being willing to look into it for me, but it looks like they have it taken care of. Thanks again, and expect a fix within the next few days.
Hi Chris,
Yes, within the past couple of weeks, it will say that same thing that so-and-so left a comment and so I go and check and there is no comment? So, I then go to my account page and check there too, but still no comment. All I can think of is that the person changed his or her mind or either a glitch. I know I left a comment on one of my own hubs to another person who commented, and now I looked and my own comment is not there. Strange.
I hope they will return to comment, but they really should have to do so more than once.
I don't think the person changed their mind. It is happening to you, me and at least one other. That means it is fairly widespread. After this question has run its course, I'll contact the staff.
Good idea, Chris. Yes, come to think of it, I know I had read a lovely comment on one of my hubs and commented back, and then a week later another comment by the same person, except the other comments were gone? His first comment was gone and mine?
That doesn't happen to me. My email notifications usually take me to the comment. I also think it depends on your settings and if you're following the subject. You must be signed in as well.

Pretty much like one would have it on a blog - with the difference that I am talking about hubtivity here.I had posted a single comment to one of the hubs a while ago. I am not too interested in the topic, just wanted to share my experience and forget. Well, the thing is - for many months this hub...

Before reporting a problem I wanted to know if anyone else is having trouble with the comment notification. I usually receive an e-mail when I get a comment. I never changed my e-mail settings but for the past 24 hours I've received comments & not a single e-mail. I just checked my settings and...

We are currently taking a high level look at our notification system: under what circumstances we send a notification to users, how the notifications are sent (e.g. via email or the iPhone app), how users can choose to opt out of these, etc.An example of a notification that we already send is...

If I view my account's Comments page, it's easy to view, approve and respond to unapproved comments. However, if I go to a new comment in one of my hubs and click Approve, I cannot reply to it directly on the comment. Instead, I have to go to my main Comments page and find the now approved comment...

We recently made an improvement to how notifications are handled on comments on your Hubs. If you would like to receive a notification when someone comments on your Hub, you will now need to "follow" your Hubs. If you had previously configured a Comment Capsule to email you...

Unless your article is on the first page of a niche site, the only way I have found to see how many comments are on them, is to actually click on the article. Now that there are comments on some niche sites that I have content on, I'm wondering how often those of you who have had them for awhile...
