Can you state in one sentence what confidence means to you?
I will begin:
To me, confidence means believing in yourself even though no one else believes in you.
Having Faith, The substance of things hoped for, and the evidence of things unseen. Then stepping out in faith, gives you the confidence you need to move forward:)
Actually, there was a time, when I thought I could control everything in my life. I had allot of confidence, was a very positive, goal oriented person. Then there came a point, where no matter how much confidence I had, and efforts I made on my own, I was defeated. It wasn't until I was literally on my knees, crying out to God, that things changed for me. It was after this I was able to continue to move forward in my life, because, The Spirit of God gave me strength. I then could step out with a new confidence. I know for some it is hard to understand, unless you have experienced this.
Confidence, I agree, is believing, or, as you put it, having faith in yourself.
Confidence is the knowing that you are doing is the right thing, whether anyone supports you in it or not. Courage is the follow through.
Confidence knowing the task is valuable, willingness to learn what is necessary & determination to enjoy doing your best with it.
Confidence is certainty. Realizing that the messages that one hears from within, are far more important than the messages one hears from without.
When I'm unsure if I can achieve something I want to do, I observe and study how others do it and then convince myself: "If they can do it, so can I".
Confidence then is the firm belief in one's own capability.
Confidence is the lack of conviction or the fullness of it.

What is the root of real confidence? This question is inspired by a quote, "The self-confidence of the warrior is not the self-confidence of the average man. The average man seeks certainty in the eyes of the onlooker and calls that self-confidence. The warrior seeks impeccability in his own...
