Sometime the stats make me wonder why.

I had a sudden jump in views to one of my California Gold Rush articles. After some investigation I found that a bunch of them were coming from FRANCE.
Not complaining, but I think that is strange.

Maybe someone has shared it somewhere. On my hub about the love story of my mom and dad, most views (3.270) come from the Philippines, followed by 744 from the USA. I thought that was strange too.

I think it's funny and sometimes amazing to see from which countries the views come.

Interesting. Maybe something made it in the news there. Is this from Google?

I've had this thing happen. Maybe their search engine has your article at the top.

One thing that's happened to me recently is that a Facebook fanpage I have for one of my own sites has started getting a lot of likes mostly from India - some from the Philippines and the Middle East. Been trying to figure out why, still don't know. Maybe the subject matter is particularly popular in India.

Could I ask what the subject is? I'm Indian, even though I'm not a current resident there. I'd be able to tell you if it actually is.

It's called Martial Arts Math. My site is called that and so is the Facebook page. It's really just about a logical approach to martial arts, using scientific principles and common sense. Not necessarily a lot of math involved, but some. The Facebook page has a lot of posts about martial arts, mainly themed around practical arts, etc, among other things.

It's possible that this could kick off in India. Quite a few kids these days are into martial arts.

That would be great. I thought maybe it was a new thing among younger people.

That happened to me back on Squidoo. I had an article on my hometown, and one day the traffic exploded and nearly all of it was from Germany (I live in Florida). I posted a comment on the article asking why it was so popular in Germany all of a sudden, and someone replied saying that a contestant on a popular German reality show was from my hometown and had mentioned it on the show. So that led to a spike in Google searches, and I was ranked well enough to get a bump in views.

Are the views organic or direct? Sometimes links of interest can be posted on forums. This has happened to me a few times. Search for the URL of your hub on Google and see what it turns up.

Yes, the source of views can be bizarre. My analyses of Romantic poetry seems to be more appreciated in India than other places.

That is interesting. I suppose it could be something like that. It continues today.
