I used to have an awesome and simple-to-use FREE keyword search tool (pre-Panda). It was lost when my last computer died, and as I wasn't writing online for some years, so I didn't miss it.
Now that I'm trying to get back at it, I can't find a similar FREE tools. Google will sell me AdWords, or a subscription, anyway, as will a number of other outfits, but I can't afford that.
The tool I had was similar to the Auto-suggest on Google Search, but ranked the searches and showed all sorts of info so you could decide if you wanted to write on that topic - or if it was even worthwhile.
Does anyone know of anything out there right now that is as simple to use and FREE?
I have spent the last few days catching up and looking through the forum posts - and found some awesome information about lots of other stuff, but could use a friendly hand pointing me in the right direction.
I just answered you on the QnA you asked, but I am not sure how long that takes to get through, try: https://neilpatel.com/ubersuggest/ and https://www.answerthepublic.com a little more detail is provided in the answer. I basically use ubersuggest first and then answerthepublic.
Thanks Brandon - both those tools are super useful and I have already put them to work on a couple of my articles. I also found "google Trends" which is helpful to some extent, but can you suggest anywhere (or how) I can find out what people are searching for? I have ideas for articles, but it's a real time waster to check out every idea and then find out they weren't great topics to start with. Ya know?
Google Trends is what you are talking about. I don't know what else you need hehe. Use ubersuggest to find the keyword and search volume relation. Maybe you are interested in hot trends? https://trends.google.com/trends/hottrends
I found it. It's produced by an Italian! https://neilpatel.com/ubersuggest/
Ooh is he? I always assumed he was Indian, Patel is a common surname in India.
Thanks again, Brandon - did I tell you I am SEO challenged? LOL. Yes, I have been messing about with Google trends and that seems to be what I was looking for. I am finding lots of info but not sure what to make of it all. You wouldn't happen to have a tutorial (hub) on Google trends anywhere. Google Trends for Dummies? Some of the "here's how to use Google trends" explanations are waaaay over my head.
I don't use Google trends, I just figured that is what you were looking for. I prefer to write evergreen articles, stuff that will get traffic year after year and not just for a month or so.
The site goes to an Italian domain and something else caught my eye as I was searching that he's Italian, but I could be incorrect. No worries.
Neil Patel's website that Branden first mentioned earlier in this thread is hosted by GoDaddy and run out of Seattle, Washington. But I guess that doesn’t mean much because Neil could be anywhere. Ubersuggest is a great tool by the way.
It doesn't matter, but I was just curious because these are bloggers I follow. My websites are hosted in the US, always.

I write how-to and recipe hubs. I know the recipe hubs will make money eventually but I have read that technical hubs get more views. What is your thoughts or experience on this topic?

I'm researching for my latest hub article and noticed that the top articles on the subject (at the top of Google) don't have a lot of images at all. They typically have one pic at the top, several links throughout the text, lots of blocked text, and are fairly short but very well written by pros....

I just submitted this hub to Owlcation. But I'm still not sure about whether I should split it into two articles/hubs or leave it as one. What do you suggest?https://hubpages.com/politics/Man-and-N … ural-World

I was deciding on revamping my Oil Shale hub. When looking through the Google Keywords Tool, I had found that A LOT of the keywords I would LIKE to use are mostly Medium to High Completion.Usual because the generic term "oil companies" ranks LOW, with 1.2 million in searches a...

I am a new Hubber. Should I write about topics that genuinely have an impact on me although they may not be that popular? Or is it better to research and find topics that are currently trending or in demand in order to get traffic to my articles?
