    Hi Hubbers,

I'd like some help with passing the Quality Assessment Process. Will you please give feedback on my article Journalism, My Life (must be signed in to view). What can I do to improve? Thanks!

You do need some proofreading, but not very much! Your story is inspiring. I'm a teacher, and young people like you give me hope for this world. KEEP GOING AND DON'T STOP!

Personally, I found your story inspiring.  You should keep writing!
Your English needs work, but nothing major. It seems like the biggest problem with your hub was the content. While reading I got the feeling it wasn't the kind of writing Hubpages would publish so I took a look at the scoring criteria for you. Hubs that aren't considered helpful (in terms of the substance of the hub) are scored at 6 or below. In my experience you need to be close to an 8 to get featured. This may be why your hub hasn't been featured.
While its a good personal story, the moderators are looking for something that would help/ add value to the reader. In other words give them information they are likely to use.
I am sure you can rework your article so that it retains your personal experiences while adding value to the reader. Maybe something like 'Lessons Studying Journalism Taught Me' or you could delve into the reasons you love journalism so ( I am sure many readers could relate to something like that).

      Other things you can improve:

      1. Length (try to make your hub as long as possible- 2000 words is a good aim)

      2. Message (develop a clear message that you think many other people can relate to or would be interested in.

      3. Sentence structure.

Also try to read as many hubs as you can in the topics you are interested in to get a feel of what is likely to succeed. When you are reading, try to look at the articles that have made it to the niche sites as these are what you should aspire to (like all the other writers here do!).
Good Luck. I wish you all the best.

The tips you've already received are really useful. Strive to be an honest, unbiased journalist as you continue learning and growing.

I appreciate your enthusiasm, and your personal story is great.
Writing on HubPages requires  following some fairly strict guidelines which you will learn as you go along.
Also the grammar and spelling needs to be near perfect English. Yours is pretty good, but not perfect.

I suggest that you go to the learning center (click the"Help "button above) and also do a lot of reading of other hubs.
I want to encourage you, but don't have time right now to go through your article thoroughly.
Don't give up-- it takes awhile, but I think you can do it if you are persistent.

I would suggest that you might write an article about your hometown or area, that tourists might find helpful or interesting. Try to write about something you know that others might find interesting or useful.  Keep writing!
