   Why Do people keep on posting Quote Of the Day over the FORUM ? Isn't it for general discussion and helping other's ?

      They should really be posted on the topical forum in their appropriate section. Sometimes staff move them.
      
      We've had this discussion before and it got quite heated. In my view this 'side' should be for Hubpages, writing, questions, technical queries, earnings, etc., while here: https://hubpages.com/forum/topical should be for everything else unrelated to writing at HP.
      
      The problem is that the category 'Freeform Discussion' invites people to post all kinds of things.

         Yes, It must be meant for Disussions. Well one sure has freedom but sometimes it feels like spamming hubpages. Well that my viewpoint.

   I used to report them for moving to the appropriate forum but it wasn't worth spending that much of my time on it.

      Well I feel the Same, The reporting option might not be that useful. Reporting of anything must be taken as an important issue. Given the fact that Many hubbers report so as to downplay others, hence I think it could not always be possible to judge the situation for the Authorities.

         How do you know it's a fact that many hubbers 'report' in order to downplay others? I don't even know what that means.
         
         If you mean reporting sub-standard hubs, then that's a good thing for everyone. If you mean reporting posts in the forum... well, it's not really reporting unless it is actual spam or abuse.
         
         Kenna's quotes aren't spam at all, they are simply in the wrong place. As are the games As the mods aren't bothered, then there's not much point us being bothered either.

            I just tried to use 'similie'. I used to be the captain of the team and we kept on winning with 10 streaks. Most of the mates are happy. But there those who weren't( which I learned Later). We lost the semis and lost the match for bronze as well. Well Who is to Be blamed? I felt after few days of the match, the stats of all top teams were better. I got an arm fracture later, couldn't join the practice later on. To me the team was everything but when I returned there were all with showing their backs to me. What happened was that Some of the guys used to tell the coach that I had been not injured and lied so as to hide my fault. supposedly that was the match we lost in the semis. The new captain came, the new team came, for the next to years we couldn't even qualify for nationals. But seemingly everyone was still happy. I had left as I couldn't handle the blame and turned my passion towards my studies. I cleared my entrance, good college and now everything is back to normal. But what i have learned is that Some people are only satisfied as long as they are at the top. No one among them wants to others rise above them. Moral of the story I may not always be right about judging people but from my experience, but I know now that I only need to know about those who actually care for myself. Moral of the story- lovely mam the 'theraggededge', keep on helping us new hubbers to develop into not just good writers but also help us grow into better beings by engaging us into fine quality works.

               Reporting is just what you do to alert moderators to a post that is not following the rules.  It has no other effect.

                  Its scope should be widen to report to ensure the contents are of spamming free and no hate speech is used.

                     This is not our job, this is staffs job.  This is handled at the very beginning.  What articles have you read that you believe include spam or hate speech?  The only true spam I have seen is people posting links in the forums to something they were trying to sell or advertising something directly in the forums.  I and others simply flagged them and they disappeared.  There are too many posts on the forums for the staff to read as soon as they are posted so in that case sometimes we would see it first and can let them know through the report function.  Articles are different.  All articles must be read and evaluated by editors on a number of areas.  This means nothing that is spam, self promotional or filled with hate speech is going to get through.  The report function does not need to be widened.

                        I meant no articles of hate speech madame. Please be clam, have a glass of water and rest assure that I cause no harm to anyone. I am only a simple guy on a vegan diet.

                           Being condescending with hubbers who have been here a while is not a helpful attitude.  If you make statements on the public forum you need to be able to back them up and not just through out whatever is on your mind that has no basis in fact.

                              I suppose Now You have even forgotten the Meaning of this discussion and taken the topic somewhere else. Please, be patient I know what I said and how nicely I explained but this kind of attitude is not right for someone who has been here for quite a long time. I really feel discomfort with your this kind of words. I was trying to be polite for a long time and It is not very good for someone to wage a conflict upon such issue.                               Yesterday a guy posted hate on my forum just because my Location says that I am an Indian. He way a A pakistani boy who on my forum Ensuring 'Content And Quality' in his native language said something that i can't tell here. My question now is to you why it takes soooooo much to ensure that someone's dignity is taken for granted.
                              And for you to telling me about my attitude, Give me a simple reason or even a post that has not ensured any respect whether the person is been of any age.
                              
                              I was born In India, is that my sin that it took so much time to remove those hate comments. I have turned of my location now. I know there might be a problem within two countries but for me Internet is a place to connect with people without boundaries. How can you accuse me of disrespect ?

                                 You need to knock it off.  I am sorry someone evidently posted something on your personal forum but that has nothing to do with me nor does it have anything to do with HP.  Leave it alone and learn about the site before coming in and bringing a bunch of baggage with you. Do not assume that things happening in other places are automatically happening here and don't continue beating a dead horse.

                                       Look, give it up. You posted this thread accusing another hubber of spamming. I've explained she's not spamming. You also made a claim that hubbers report other hubbers to 'downplay others'. You have no proof of that. It's not surprising that people get a little bit arsey when you say stuff like that.
                                       
                                       You have to understand that any community is going to close ranks when a newcomer comes and starts making accusations. Breathe and take a forum break. No-one's out to get you and it will all be forgotten in a day or two.

                           Stop digging the hole, Abheek. We know you don't mean any harm. It's just that seasoned hubbers look askance at anyone who comes in and launches a criticism. It has happened before. A lot.
                           
                           Sit back and observe for a while. Focus on your articles and getting them moved to the network sites. And, by the way, don't use prohibited, watermarked Alamy stock images.
                           
                           Use Pixabay or similar.

         Where did you get this from?  Given you've only been here six days perhaps sitting back and reading and learning what HP is all about before saying something so antagonistic which I think is entirely untrue.  Hubbers are generally supportive of each other, help each other out and there is no need for direct competition as each article is judged on it's merits.  I haven't seen a case where people try to go after each others niches or topics and if anything people provide suggestions, support, advice, help and do whatever they can to help boost each other up not the opposite.  Perhaps you've written at a different site before such that you interpreted the category "challenges" as the place to challenge other hubbers on whether or not something they did is appropriate.  It is for challenges regarding setting your own goal for writing a certain number of hubs over a certain period of time.  Please be good enough to take the time to learn more about the community here before posting such negative comments which are totally inaccurate.

            I really feel like I have caused some unusual unrest among the HP community I apologize for that part  if anyone who reads this Finds my views inappropriate, them I am sorry.
            With due respect Madame, I might be just 6 days old on HP still I have lived for over 2 decades now and you must understand What I shared Is not about Hubbers or in any way to cause any harm in the community but to express my views in the name of freedom that I have recieved here. There is no such thing as a negative comment. It is merely a description of how people, of different ideologies cannot exist under one roof. Well i suppose my methaphor would not hurt anyone. I take everything that you said as a positive feed back and will keep on trying my best .

   You can report things for spam and hostile language.  Those things are against the rules.  The admins might take a little while to see it though.
