seems like it is spam attack at its best..i have already reported around 10 of them...
me too!
they must be desparate though- one of the streams was to watch Nottingham Forest
but by being desperate they are actually scaring people away from their blog at first place
I hope the hub pages people are awake and sort- I sometimes think that they understand the time differences and place them when the staff are in bed
The spammers know that the 'office' don't work weekends, it is a normal Friday night saturday morning thing now. I guess the spammer is or was a hubber.
the only way around it is to have someone in a different time zone on a contract to deal with spamming or flagged up points. I have always thought that all the eggs are in one basket in a time zone sense
That's a really good idea Caseworker! I didn't realise there's no-one on "spam duty" over the weekend. If that's the case spammers have a long time to spread the word according to them!
I say engage a keen hubber or hubbers from a different time zone to keep the site clean.
spam and eggs - actually very good! you're just making me hungry again.
they are probably on pay per post jobs- like $1 a 1000 posts! so you would posst til you were caught.
Its just a bit frustrating that we cant do anything about it at the moment- but at least we have all learnt not to click on them
Website when grows obviously have to face such problems. This is common on every top website.
i agree with what you say..but haven't seen such frequency of spamming on hub before...today it is raining spams...
"massive spam attack on hub forum!!!!!!!!"
Another typical Spam Saturday on HP….
All HP really needs to do is hire a weekend temp to come in and stomp on these critters.
edit: For that matter, they could do it from home.
edit #2:I herewith apply for this job. –paradigmsearch
They won't last long...someone does check on weekends. But it's only 5:49 am in California right now.
Flag the profile instead of every single posting.
ya have flagged the profiles which are spamming...
seemed someone took note of flagging..they are gone...
I wasn't aware of this, also. And, I'm still confused. Someone please enlighten me.
It is a community effort to keep the forums cleaned up of spam. Flagging profiles is top priority. You can report each thread as well, if you like.
I reported some threads. I also reported the profiles.
OMG.... How Come You're Back Again???????????????
I've been Reporting this Cagsil-Look-A-Like for the last 2 weeks since Cagsil said not to accept Cheap Imitations!
*Note: This Is NOT the Real Cagsil!!!
um guys my point was that if there was someone with access to the system on a different time zone then they wouldnt have to get up at the crack of dawn in san franscisco cos some night owl in australia or mum in the uk would have already bin on it
Good idea Caseworker. This type of spam attack happens regularly.
Lots of spammers here right now just flagged their profile, hope they take care of this, getting annoying.
same here. i just flagged like 12 of them already, including the spammers profile. hopefully, hubpages will see it. hi diane, hows it going?
Hey Steven, I'm good. How are you?
I wish I had the ability to boot the spammers off. But then again I might go crazy and boot the wrong people off. So probably good thing I don't. lol
lol. im doing great thanks. so how have you been doing lately? by the way, sorry about neglecting you in the other forum. I didn't realize you were flirting with me, until i reread your posts. im still kind of new at it, so im sorry about that. although i must admit the whole school girl getting spanked scenario was a bit of a turn on.
That's alright, just don't let it happen again. (just kidding)
But don't
nah, i don't think i could forget about a pretty girl even if i wanted to.
Boy, you are a fast learner, smooth talker, you could be dangerous. That's cool.
Not a bad thing at all, Just remember there is a fine line between being flirty and being fed a line of BS. If you know what I mean.
But Hey, doesn't bother me, lay it on thick. I'll lap it up.
I mean who can resist such a cute, Cat.
if you say so then. meow.
(purrs next to diane's feet)
im sorry. i just felt like snuggling next to ya.
Oh well that's okay then, snuggle away.
Hey your Psuedo name wouldn't happen to be Ernest T would it?
Cause if so.............
Oh long story, Steven, but it was a guy that I was talking to in the hubpages chat room. last night. He was nice and flirty a little, and a little funny, thought he might have been you.
I like the chatroom, but not too many people here are interested.
oh i see. what would you have done if i said i was him? lol. not that i am, as i never heard of this chatting site your talking about, but you aroused my curiosity now. lol.
well another hubber, infobucket, started a chatroom at this site
http://hubpageschat.blogspot.com/
for hubpages, writers to communicate, but there is usually only two or so thats all.
Last night I met Ernest, and he was a hoot. But mostly it is wrylilt, sometimes me and every once and a while others trickle in.
You are also welcome to come in anytime, of course when there is people there.
really? that's cool. i'll have to check it out sometime. thanks for telling me.
No problem would love to chat with you anytime.
aw thanks. well i wouldn't mind chatting with you too.
besides, it might be worth checking out if your there.
Yeah I'll go there if you want to chat for a few.

I know you can have more than one account on HubPages. However in talking to someone recently, I realise I'm fuzzy about the rules. Can a staff member comment on the statements below please?I know that when you're posting in a forum thread, you MUST stick to using one...

I have been seeing a lot of forum spam lately. I think it could be *greatly* reduced by only allowing new sign-ups to post under the help section until they've published one hub. After they've published their first hub, then they could post anywhere. I think this would deter a lot of the people who...

I found a quick way to get a BIG boost in traffic...and it's built right into Hubpages. When you create or edit a hub, you are given the opportunity to share it under the various social networks such as Facebook, and under the Facebook category, there is the option to "share it on a friends...

I just checked my traffic and have 1030 views from Facebook in the last 7 days. I always share my new hubs there and I think you will agree from my latest traffic figures that it has been well worthwhile doing this!
