I've had terrible traffic on all of my articles. I really want to write but now I'm going through a "what's the point"phase because nobody reads them anyway and i never get comments, should i stop?

Hang on, you joined 32 hours ago? And you have five articles already. Or is this a second account?

It takes a lot longer than 32 hours to build up a decent amount of traffic--it's more like 32 months. Well, that might be a little exaggerated, but honestly, writing is a long-term game.

Edit: One thing you really need to be careful of, and that is republishing images that you don't have the rights to. Images should be your own or carry a Creative Commons licence. You don't want to receive a demand for payment for unauthorised use.

It took me several years to finally realize what subjects I could write about that people liked to read. Everyone is a better writer on some subjects than others. You've just got to figure out what subjects you thrive at in writing, and that takes some time.

My advice is that you write about the things you love the most, and know the most about. When you love a subject, and also know a lot about it, your enthusiasm will bleed through in the text. Readers will pick up on your enthusiasm, and enjoy it.

It takes most people a good year or two before they start getting a decent following.  You might see some activity in 6-8 months if you're really lucky but for now just keep writing and don't worry so much about the views just yet.  Keep up with the forums and try to adopt what people are advising that seems useful but still don't monitor your views all the time at first.  If you create well written content on topics that people are interested in you will find that after some time you traffic starts to increase.  Good luck.

I would look at the list of network sites and found one or two you would like to write for. Read the editor policies and see if something sounds good.

Another thing which I should have mentioned to you earlier is that Google is basically 'god' of the internet. Everyone wants to make at least some money from their work, and traffic from almighty Google is where the biggest percentage of readers come from.

So basically, your in the business of pleasing Google We all are. Everyone.

Well, okay, that's clear enough. What a new person doesn't know is that sometimes a page sits there and does next to nothing for 6 months to a year. Okay?

This has absolutely happened to me more than once. I publish a page here, I think it is great. Nothing happens until 6 or more months later, then WHAM. Google then decides, after that time has passed, that my page about whatever is absolutely fantastic.

So you can never give up on a thing you wrote just because it isn't doing anything right away. The internet doesn't work like that.
