Writing short stories

    I am just curious to see if it's a good idea to write short stories on here or if writing different parts of a story and then publishing it?

    I write a couple of different things but I love to write short stories.

    Any suggestions? I want to succeed in my writing.

      Hi Jessica,

      You are welcome to write short stories on HubPages. However, if your aim in writing here is to make money, we recommend writing informative articles instead. HubPages can be a good place to workshop your creative writing and get feedback from other writers, but since readers are not looking for creative writing in search engines, you are not likely to get much traffic.

      Posting the work online uses first worldwide online publishing rights--this will greatly reduce your publishing options.

      HP is a great place to exercise short story writing skills. Some hubbers read them. Some will give helpful feedback. The advice you've been given here so far, though, is important to take to heart because it is true.
